Heinemann & Zsolnay

Paul Zsolnay partnered with Heinemann Publishers to found Heinemann & Zsolnay in London in 1940. They acquired the French translation rights for works by W. Somerset Maugham and Ernest Hemingway. They also published several speeches by Winston Churchill. Overall, Heinemann & Zsolnay was a successful business venture.

Zsolnay had been the owner of the Paul Zsolnay Verlag, which he had founded in Vienna in 1923. It was one of the most prominent publishing companies of the interwar period in Austria, but was forced to close after the Anschluss. Zsolnay returned to Vienna in 1946.
