Hermann Meyer founded a second-hand bookstore and the publishing house Universitas Booksellers in Jerusalem after his arrival in 1937. He was a major collector of Judaica, maps, travel books, topography and cartography. He specialized in the publication of topographic and cartographic research of Jerusalem.
