Alan Winters worked in the investment management business for over 30 years as an analyst, portfolio manager, Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Kingdon Capital Management. During that time, he took a two-year sabbatical to teach elementary school in the Bronx. After leaving Kingdon in 2016, Alan created a successful executive coaching practice.
Alan served on the Board of University Settlement House for 23 years, 7 of which was as Chairman of the Board. He is also active with the UJA of New York, where he is a founding member of Solelim, a venture philanthropy group and Chair of the Network Planning and Allocations Committee.
Alan has a BA in Finance from Lehigh University, an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a MEd in Education from Lehman College.
Alan Winters is a first-generation American. Both his parents grew up in Berlin. His late father emigrated to the United States in 1938 and his late mother came to the United States (under temporary asylum) in 1944 after hiding in a small Italian town for most of the duration of the war.
