Lauren Paustian works as the Registrar and Collections Care Manager at the Leo Baeck Institute, a position she has held since 2017. She started working as a librarian at the Leo Baeck Institute in 2008. In her current position, Paustian oversees the preservation for books, periodicals, art pieces, and objects in the Leo Baeck Institute collection. She provides registrar duties for all exhibitions and loans, and she also catalogs new entries for the Edythe Griffinger Art Catalog. Paustian has received training in many aspects of collections care, including disaster recovery, security, storage best practices, digital preservation procedures, and registrar methods. She obtained dual master’s degrees in Library and Information Science and in Art History from the Pratt Institute. She has a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Franklin & Marshall College.
