Philipp Feldheim founded Philipp Feldheim Inc. in New York in 1939. He initially opened a Jewish bookstore, but later established a small press to disseminate Jewish literature in Hebrew and English. In 1968, he opened the Feldheim Publishing Ltd. in Israel as a branch of his publishing house.
Feldheim had fled Austria after Kristallnacht.
