Biographical/Historical Information
The author and philosopher Moses Moser (1796-1838) worked as a merchant and banker in Berlin when he founded together with Eduard Gans and Leopold Zunz the Verein für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Judentums. He thus became a close friend to Heinrich Heine, with whom Moser maintained a long and intimate correspondence.
