Biographical/Historical Information
Herbert Louis Samuel, 1st Viscount Samuel served as High Commissioner for Palestine, 1920-1925. He was a leader of the Liberal Party in Britain and an influential supporter of early Zionism. Samuel was the first practicing Jew to serve as a Cabinet minister.
