Biographical/Historical Information

The main synagogue for the Jewish congregation in Munich was designed by the prominent German architect Albert Schmidt (1841-1913) in a neo-Romanic style and opened in 1887. It was one of the first synagogues in Nazi-Germany to be torn down in June of 1938.
