Biographical/Historical Information
Bernard Katz was born 1911 in Leipzig, Germany. In Australia he worked as a physician and biophysicist, and he was noted for his work on nerve physiology. He shared the Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine in 1970 with Julius Axelrod and Ulf von Euler. He was knighted in 1969. Sir Bernard Katz died in 2003 in London.
