Biographical/Historical Information
Theodor Heuss was the first President of the Federal Republic of Germany from 1949 to 1959.
The German artist Hans Jürgen Kallmann (1908-1991) spent the beginnining of his artistic areer in Berlin, until he was declared a degenerate artist by the Nazis and forbidden to exhibit in 1937. In the 1950s and living in Munich, he became known as the portraitist of renowned personalities of culture, science and politics.
