Biographical/Historical Information
Louisa Dreyfus Rostenberg was born into a family of German Jewish immigrants in New Orleans. Her parents (Bertha and Leon) were from the Bavarian town of Ingenheim, Germany and immigrated to New Orelans in 1857, where her father Leon went into the jewelry business. In 1889, the family moved to the New York City area. Louisa married Theodore Rostenberg and had a daugher named Leona Rostenberg. She was an aunt of Richard F. Koch.
