    In a three-quarter portrait, the subject is as an older man. He wears a black suit with a black vest and cravat. He has a wrinkled face, blue eyes,soft dark hair parted on the side, and sideburns. The portrait is framed in a rectangular frame with an oval cut out. Matching portrait with 2022.60.

Biographical/Historical Information

Abraham Wormser was born July 29, 1785 in Aldingen, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. His father was Samuel Isaac (Guggenheim) Wormser (1739-1797) and mother was Elkele Simon Cahn (1737-1796). Abraham married Gutele Hayum (1790-1866) in 1811, and they had seven children. Abraham died in 1860.
