Robert Stricker
(1879-1944) was a Zionist and member of the Austrian parliament between 1919 and 1920, representing the Jewish National Party. He founded the Jewish daily Wiener Morgenzeitung and the weekly Neue Welt.  Stricker was also involved in the establishment of the World Jewish Congress and president of its Austrian section. Refusing to leave Austria after 1938, he was arrested, sent to concentration camps and eventually murdered in Auschwitz.
