Lasar Segall: Portrait of Mary Wigmann

 

The Secession movement originated in 1892 in Munich under the leadership of Fritz von Uhde and gradually spread to all major cities in Germany as well as Austria. The Berlin Secession came into being in 1898 with Max Liebermann as its first president.
